About the service

Used auto parts, sourced to your vehicle — not picked off a shelf

LiveAutoParts is a used auto parts sourcing and quote service. You send the vehicle and the part; we work the request through a vetted network of independent recyclers, salvage yards and suppliers across the USA and Canada, then come back with the units we can actually get, with condition, fitment basis, warranty term, shipping method and the delivered total written down. LiveAutoParts (Priona Global INC) is the seller and merchant of record for the order, so one company answers for the quote, the warranty, the return and the refund — you are not left chasing a yard three states away.

FITMENT

What actually decides fitment

Not the badge on the trunk. Two cars of the same year and model take different parts depending on engine code, transmission type, front- or all-wheel drive, trim and sometimes build date. Engines and transmissions interchange by their casting/engine code, body panels by trim, sensor cut-outs and paint code, and control modules often have to be programmed to your vehicle's keys before they will start the car. That is why a VIN gets a sharper answer than "a 2015 sedan" — and why final fitment is confirmed with you before payment.

COMPARE

What a written quote should state

Compare offers on the same five points: exactly what is included (a long block is not a complete engine, a bare module is not a programmed one), the fitment basis the seller used, the condition or test information for that specific unit, the warranty length and what it excludes, and the delivered total with shipping, taxes and any core charge. A quote missing any of the five is not comparable to one that has them.

DECISION

When used is the right call

Used earns its keep on complete assemblies that are expensive new and usually fail from one broken component — engines, transmissions, transfer cases, control modules, body panels, headlight assemblies, seats. Remanufactured makes more sense where every wear surface has to be brought back to spec. Brake, airbag, ABS, steering and fuel-system parts should be diagnosed and installed by a professional shop whichever route you take.

Questions before you ask

Used auto parts: the questions buyers ask first

Q1

How does the quote process work?

You send your vehicle and the part you need; we come back with the options we can actually source and the terms in writing. Nothing is charged on this website — after you approve a vehicle-specific final quote we send a secure payment link, and the sale is confirmed once payment clears. A quotation is valid for 14 calendar days unless a different expiry is printed on it.

Q2

What details do you need to quote a part?

The VIN is the most useful single thing you can send — it pins down the engine, transmission, drive type and build data that decide which part fits. Without one, send year, make, model, trim, engine size and transmission type, plus the paint code and a photo for body parts. Tell us about any engine, transmission or suspension swap: final fitment verification is the buyer's responsibility, and a part that does not fit because of wrong vehicle details is treated as a buyer-error return.

Q3

How and when do you take payment?

After you approve your quote. Nothing on this site charges a card — the cart builds a quote request, not an order. Once you accept a final quote we send a secure payment link, and you pay by card or PayPal through a PCI-compliant processor; full card numbers are never stored on our servers. LiveAutoParts (Priona Global INC) is the seller and merchant of record, and cancellation is free within 2 hours of payment confirmation.

Q4

What warranty and return terms apply?

Parts carry a 30-day limited warranty from the date of delivery; select parts carry up to 90 days when your quotation says so. The warranty covers the part itself — not labour, installation, diagnostics, towing or a rental car. Returns must be requested within 7 calendar days of delivery and authorised in writing (an RMA) before anything ships back; buyer-error returns can carry a restocking fee of 15% on standard parts or 25% on heavy or special orders such as engines, transmissions and body panels. The terms printed on your own quotation control.

Q5

How does shipping work for something as heavy as an engine?

Smaller parts move by parcel carrier; engines, transmissions and body panels ship LTL freight on a pallet or crate, drained and strapped. Freight cost depends on weight, distance and whether you need liftgate or residential delivery, so the shipping method and cost are on the quote before you approve it. At delivery, inspect before you sign: note any visible damage on the delivery receipt, photograph the packaging, and report damage within 48 hours so the carrier claim stays valid.

Q6

Is used better than remanufactured or new?

It depends on the part. Used is usually the best value on complete assemblies that cost a lot new and typically fail from one broken component — engines, transmissions, transfer cases, control modules, body panels and lighting. Remanufactured is the safer buy where every wear surface has to be restored to spec, and safety-critical parts belong with a professional shop for diagnosis and installation either way. Our used vs. aftermarket vs. new comparison walks through it part by part.
